One day in January, it snowed a lot. The next morning, I was told by my father to go to the old woman's house to clear away the snow in front of her house. I did not really want to do so, but I left my house after breakfast.When I arrived at her house, the snow was already cleared away. I started working with her and asked,“Were you told to do this by anyone ?” She said,“No. I am a member of a volunteer group in this city. Our group has done many things to help other people in the community.” I said,“You don't get any money for doing this, do you ?” Then she said,“No. I'm not doing this for money. (C) (I really enjoy doing things like this. In a sense, I am doing volunteer work for myself, not only for other people.) There are many things which I have learned from volunteer work. I also feel happy to see other people's happy faces. So I have to say that I should thank them.” (D)(I was very surprised to know that there are wonderful students like her.) I sometimes remember his smiling face. ――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――― ★自由英作文問題をどう書けばいいのか？！―その注意点と考えかた。 ○「嘘も方便」という諺があるけど、場合によっては作り話でもいいというこ と。与えられたテーマに対して、違ったことを書いてはいけないし、制限字 数とか文の数の指定は必ず守らなければならないけど、内容は事実や自分の 本当に思ってることと違っていてもかまわない！！ 例えば、「あなたの将来してみたい仕事は何ですか」で出されて、「私は花 が好きで、育てるのも興味があるので、花屋さんをやってみたい」なんて、 もし考えていてまともに書こうものなら、どうなりますか？ 理由のほうは 書けそうだけど、「花屋さん」の単語が書けないかも。flower shop でもい いけど、florist(花屋)の単語なんて知らない。「やってみたい」はどう書く の？ 経営するは、run を使うけど、そんなの中学生のレベルを超えてるで しょう。ですから、そんなときは看護婦になりたい、とか、自分の知ってる 単語とか平易な英文を使って書くことを勧める。 減点対象になる単語・文法は出来る限り書かないこと。 ○ストーリー性を持つこと。2文程度の文は直ぐに英語で書いても、別段へん てこな文にはならないけど、4〜5文になると、まとまりのない、ただ無造作 に羅列しただけの英文を書く生徒が結構いる。そんなときは、まず日本文を 雑でもいいから書いて、筋が通るか、意味的に流れのある文になってるか、 簡単に推敲してから、英文を書いたほうがいい。書きながら考えてるより、 却ってその方が早く、正確に書けるものだ。 |
